Connectivity Expands the Attack Surface
When sensors, gateways and control devices connect to the internet, risks extend beyond individual endpoints. Default credentials, exposed management interfaces and protocol flaws can expose sensitive data, enable device takeover or provide access to other systems through a gateway. Device identity, interface authorization and communication protection must extend from chips and firmware to gateways and cloud services, rather than relying on perimeter defenses alone.
